Ant powders and sprays can be bought over the counter at
Supermarkets. But unless the nest
and queen is killed then
they invariably return.

Ant ColoniesAnts form colonies that range in size from a few dozen predatory individuals living in small natural cavities to highly organised colonies that may occupy large territories and consist of millions of individuals. Larger colonies consist mostly of sterile, wingless females forming castes of "workers", "soldiers", or other specialised groups. Nearly all ant colonies also have some fertile males called "drones" and one or more fertile females called "queens". The colonies sometimes are described as superorganisms because the ants appear to operate as a unified entity, collectively working together to support the colony
When you have a bug or pest infestation it is important that you control or
kill them as soon as possible. Because if left untreated,
they will quickly multiply and an annoyance becomes a disaster.
In many cases it can be dangerous to attempt this yourself. We have the right equipment, treatment agents, and expertise so call our
fast response unit and we will sort the problem out quickly and efficiently.
Ants in Spain
Ants in Spain can become a serious problem. Ant types range from large Black Pavement ants to minute
almost transparent red ants. Pavement ants can vary in size from large, medium to small and are found around patios and under paving slabs or stones. The smaller transparent ants tend to give an irritating nip, so if allowed to invade a
house can be quite a nuisance.
But all ants live in the garden, in soil, compost heaps or rotting tree stumps. Ants do not like wet conditions or disturbance and will only venture inside a house if they find food.
They especially like area's where food, moisture and warmth abound such as our kitchens, dining rooms and bedrooms.
They are only active during certain times of the day when the temperature is right and quite
often prefer the dark and can crawl into amazingly small places.
The key to ant control is eradicating the ant population. This simply means killing the ants (preferably in or near the nest) so that they don't have the opportunity to breed.
Spraying the house and skirting boards with insecticide every month or so is a good way to
deter them, but does not kill the nest. Finding and applying pesticide
to the nest is crucial.
We have our own treatment that will kill the nest and the queen.
